Always Like A Shadow

This film showcases many Singaporeans living their day-to-day life, feeling carefree as they are protected by a group of people. They didn’t realize that this group of people was so precious to them, and they are our country’s National Servicemen (NSmen)! This appreciation film then shows many citizens expressing their gratitude towards the NS men and recognizing their efforts to protect and defend the nation.

Our No.4

Debbie encounters various acts of good deeds from fellow NSmen of the different forces. This triggers a flashback to a time where Debbie’s father helped a boy who fell off his bicycle, giving her an immense sense of pride in him. Upon arriving the studio, Debbie is surprised to see them there with her father. They took photos together. Debbie hangs the pictures taken in the studio on the wall, proud of what she took and donning on her green uniform, leaving the room ready for the next phase of her life.

Appreciating NS Man

An NSman that is serving the nation was feeling really tired after he booked out and as he was feeling happy to finally be out so that he can see his parents. As he was going home, a stranger felt that he was smelly and walked away. Eventually, he had to go back and have dinner alone, and felt embarrassed that the stranger did that. The next day, as he was getting ready to book in, a young boy that has always dreamt of being a solider went up to him and gave him a candy. The whole idea of the story is that we want to appreciate the people that are serving the nation. We don't know what they are going through but we can make a difference by appreciating them in our own ways.
